LIUNA Builds a Stronger Workforce: 

Apprentice Training: LIUNA offers a Department of Labor (DOL) recognized apprenticeship program.  LIUNA’s DOL approved Construction Craft Laborer (CCL) apprenticeship program offers a formalized track to build your workforce of the future. New apprentices receive a solid foundation in general construction, safety and other core skills. As CCL apprentices advance they can obtain industry skills in building, heavy/highway/utilities, demolition, masonry, pipeline, landscaping, tunneling and environmental remediation.   

Career Advancement: Contractors can build the skills of their journey-workers through LIUNA’s extensive upgrade training. They may train for emerging industries like renewable energy or obtain specialized skills within an industry segment like decorative concrete. Foreman and Supervisor training prepare those who want to take on more responsibility. 

Certificate Programs: Several training programs qualify for LIUNA or other

industry certificates. From hazardous waste, asbestos and lead abatement to weatherization technician/energy auditor your company’s growth is only limited by the skills of your workforce. Other certificate programs include concrete technician and flatwork finisher; rough terrain forklift; pipeline operator qualification; and qualified signal person and rigger to name a few.
